First Officer - Umberto 'Bert'

  Bert was born in a small fishing village near Portofino in Italy, and with family in the Merchant navy, he grew up surrounded by sailors and naturally fell in love with a life at sea.

An experienced ship’s mate, he has spent over 12 years in the industry and is responsible for all matters of safety and seamanship on Metsuyan IV.

When not at work, he continues his love for the ocean and is a huge water sports enthusiast, you will often find him surfing, free diving, sailing or scuba diving. When at home, he regularly travels with his family or undertakes beach clean ups with his daughter, wife and friends.
